- 2 kg of wheat bran,
- a few twigs or leaves of cherry,
- 12 l water.
- Bran is soaked in cold water first, then add in the preparation of cherry leaves and then huştele (plămădeala borșului), in case you don't have you can replace the huşte with 2 slices of Sour rye bread and 1 tablespoon sugar. Cover with a lid or with a cloth napkin and place it in a warm place for 24 hours. After this sour Borscht strain and put in a cool place, and in the remaining table longer pours boiling water and place it again. Sour Borscht is cooked in pots of oak or clay.
